Our team is made up of people who specialized in Design, Architecture, Museography, Scenography, Philosophy, Marketing and Advertising.
We come from a multitude of personal and professional backgrounds, which is vital for our working method. We like to see ourselves as a cool team that brings out the best of everyone’s personality.
Joana Brígido
Joana has a background in Interior Design and her first exhibition was for La Triennale di Milano in 2009. Since then, he has never stopped working in team management and interior/product design, both in Portugal and Italy.
In 2011 he co-founded TOYNO.
But Joana isn’t just about work! She loves catching waves and walking her dog Boris!
Aldo Tornaghi
Aldo has a degree in Industrial Design and specialized in Interior Design and Museography. He has already worked in Antwerp, Milan and Maputo. He then moved to Lisbon, where he started working at TOYNO.
Here, it’s not unusual to see Aldo writing with one hand, drawing with the other and putting up post-its on the wall with his feet!
Is it possible for a colourblind to become a designer? Aldo says a big YES to that!
Ana Novais
Ana has a degree in Design and specialized in Product and Services Design. At TOYNO, he designs the experiences, environments and equipment that allow the whole space to become what we think it is.
She loves to talk, to devise plans and to research. There isn’t a day we don’t hear her talk enthusiastically about her current project and how to make utopic ideas tangible.
If I could do it again, I’d have no doubt: I’d go on a motorcycle tour of Vietnam.
Andreia Baltazar
Andreia studied Marketing & Advertising with a Communication & Image specialization. She was in charge of several projects in many different fields: exhibitions and learning spaces for museums and science centres, fit-out projects and change management, rethinking the way teams work.
At TOYNO, you’re everywhere, always just a click away! Andreia is super organized and that’s why she loves to plan and manage people.
What lifts her spirits? A long, daily walk very early in the morning!
Cecília Silva
Cila is our paperwork person. She is always close to the team, dealing with invoices, contracts and important documents.
How do we know Cila is around? When we hear a good and loud laughter!
Laura Dâmaso
Laura studied Communication Design and doesn’t hide her love of illustration. At TOYNO, you can find her between the Illustrator and the coffee machine… if not, she’s definitely watering the plants, but always with her water bottle behind her! He loves studying colors, but can’t resist Naples Yellow.
It’s through a motorcycle ride through the nooks and crannies of Serra da Estrela that you get inspired and recharge your batteries!
Margarida Matos
Margarida studied architecture in Lisbon, but she has always been fascinated by interior design. At TOYNO, you’ll find her both making 3D images and designing projects, and she’s always ready to ask a question or have a laugh!
To win her heart, all you have to do is bring her a new project, chocolates or take her out for an éclair, preferably in Paris.
Maria Cartay
Maria has an Architecture degree and worked in Venezuela and Argentina. She specialized in Product and Space Design in Lisbon and Service Design in Finland. He worked in interior design until he joined TOYNO!
Here, she proposes and makes tangible empathetic and purposeful experiences in space.
Maria is a ceramist and loves to create playlists in Spotify. She even created a ‘Toyno soundtrack’ that reveals our character and spirit. You can listen to it here.
Nuno Marcos
Nuno studied architecture and is one of the creative minds behind TOYNO’s projects. When he’s not designing new spaces and experiences, he’s scratching his head and wondering how he’s going to make it all happen!
Fortunately, Nuno has a fail-proof secret: if he needs inspiration, all he has to do is take a quick trip to the beach and he comes back ready to overcome any creative block!
Roberta Mansur
Roberta has a degree in Architecture and specialized in Scenography, Historical Buildings’ Restoration, Design and Advertising. She was born in Brazil and has lived in Italy and Australia. She is interested in people-centered creative processes and feels that, at TOYNO, she has gone from theory to practice. She feels her work objectively changes people’s lives through interactions with physical spaces.
Roberta loves to watch airplanes and has a movie recommendation for you: Life is Beautiful.
