This project involved the creation of an interactive exhibition dedicated to the phenomenon of contagion, developed in consortium by the Ciência Viva Science Centre, Universcience, and Heureka, The Finnish Science Centre.

The challenge was to transform a concept often associated with something negative into an accessible, engaging, and participatory experience, revealing contagion as a force present in multiple dimensions of our lives. From learning to laughter, contagion is presented as a driver of transmission, connection, and transformation.

The project included research and scientific validation with experts, the development of the exhibition concept and narrative, organization into five thematic areas, the creation of 24 interactive modules, as well as the design of the exhibition’s identity and communication materials.

The exhibition was presented in three leading European science centers: the Pavilion of Knowledge in Lisbon; the Palais de la Découverte; and the Heureka in Vantaa. It was visited by more than two million people.

Internationally recognized, it has been distinguished by CAISE Informal Science as a benchmark exhibition in the field of informal science education.
